The information contained in this knowledge base is intended for people who have responsibilities under FWS financial assistance programs. These include collective agreement facilitators, program managers, grant specialists, financial support partners and recipients. All FWS recipients in the country are required to use the Automated Standard Application for Payments (ASAP) system for grant payments and payments for cooperation agreements. ASAP is a federal online electronic payment system. Recipients must register with ASAP and use ASAP to request payments. Payments are then automatically paid into the recipient`s bank account the day after the payment is paid.

The Case Manager will review your case in detail and review your information in the questionnaire with you. The case manager uses screening criteria to rank you for the most appropriate level and type of intervention to ensure your success. Based on your classification, you are either scheduled for ASAP intensive courses, or you are asked to choose a treatment provider from an approved directory that will evaluate your case to determine if addiction treatment is necessary. The Case Manager will also check the terms of your participation agreement and your probation conditions and help you cope with other requirements such as ignition locking. After three years, the positive results continued. While full-time enrolment declined in both groups during each semester, student declines in the program group were much more modest. Nearly 50% of ASAP students were enrolled full-time after three years, compared to less than 20% of the control group. In terms of diplomas, 35 percent of the program group earns diplomas (including certificates, associate degrees, and even a handful of bachelor`s degrees) until the end of three years, compared to 19 percent of the control group. Meanwhile, 18% of the program group was transferred to a four-year institution (including some overlap with students), compared to 12% of the control group.
